In a past post, we talked about the heritage of the abaya, which was founded decades ago. It started as a loose- traditional piece of clothes but has recently evolved from being just a necessity to leave its mark in the fashion world! So we partnered up with Brownbook to dig deeper into the history of abaya and explore the art and heritage behind it. We loved talking to abaya designers Amal Murad, Rabia Z, and Lina Malaika, as well as getting other perspectives from people such as blogger/designer Alaa Balkhy, and successful entrepreneur Deem Al Bassam about the abaya and how to maintain it.
